Terms and conditions

These terms explain the rules for using Yo lo Tengo, operated by Yo lo Tengo. By creating an account or continuing to use the service, you agree to them.

Who may use the service

You must be legally able to accept these terms in your country. Information provided during registration must be accurate and current.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in methods secure and for activity carried out through your account. Tell support promptly if you believe someone else gained access.

Businesses, products and public content

You may publish only lawful and accurate information you are authorized to offer. You are responsible for prices, availability, descriptions, rights to photos and products, customer service, taxes and obligations that apply to your activity.

Search, location and conversations

Nearby results depend on the location you choose, business information and availability at the time of the search. Users and businesses are responsible for what they send in conversations and for verifying details before completing a transaction.

Reviews, questions and acceptable conduct

Reviews and questions must reflect a genuine experience or inquiry. Fraud, impersonation, threats, harassment, spam, unlawful content, infringement of another person's rights and attempts to misuse or disrupt the service are prohibited.

Business verification

A verification badge means that the submitted business information was reviewed and that the required subscription is current. It is not a rating, recommendation, guarantee of quality or guarantee that a transaction will be completed successfully.

Promoted placement

Businesses may buy promotional credit and create campaigns. Promoted results are identified as such. A campaign may pause when its balance ends, its daily limit is reached, its time expires or it no longer meets the service rules.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple or Google processes in-app purchases and subscriptions. The device store shows the price and purchase conditions before confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel them through that store before the next renewal date.

Offers, cancellations and refunds

Promotional offers may have eligibility, duration, availability and redemption limits. Cancelling a subscription normally stops the next renewal but does not remove access already granted for the paid period. Refund requests are handled under the rules of the store that processed the payment and applicable law.

Points programs

Each participating business defines its own earning rule, rewards, availability, exclusions and program conditions. Points belong only to the issuing business, cannot be transferred, exchanged for cash or used as stored money. Yo lo Tengo does not process the underlying sale. The business records an already completed purchase, and the service calculates whole points using the rule accepted by the member.

Returns may reverse previously awarded points. If points were already spent, the balance may become negative and new redemptions will be unavailable until it recovers. A business may pause its program or a specific reward. If a business loses verification, earning and redemption are paused while cards and history remain visible.

Permanent card codes identify a membership and may be used only to award points. Reward redemption requires a short-lived, one-time code and cashier confirmation. Business owners are responsible for their rewards and for the actions of staff they authorize.

Moderation and account measures

We may review reports, remove content, limit features, suspend a business or close an account when reasonably necessary to protect people, comply with law or enforce these terms. Where appropriate, we may ask for corrections before taking a stronger measure.

Availability and changes

We work to keep the service available, but some functions may change or be interrupted. Important changes to these terms will be published with a new effective date.

Responsibility

Yo lo Tengo helps people discover and contact independent businesses. Unless we expressly state otherwise, we are not the seller of the products or services offered by those businesses. Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights or other rights that cannot legally be limited in your country.

Ending your account

You may stop using the service and request deletion from account settings. Closing the account does not automatically cancel a subscription managed by Apple or Google; cancel it separately in your device store.

Business gift card terms

Gift cards are available for verified businesses. The issuing business is responsible for its goods, services and offered terms. It may record a sale paid outside Yo Lo Tengo or issue a complimentary gift. Yo Lo Tengo records the benefit; this feature does not charge the buyer or pay the business.

The balance is specific to the issuing business and stated currency. It is separate from points, is not a general balance for other businesses and is not automatically converted between currencies. The recipient must register the gift using the verified email it was sent to. Redemption, including partial redemption, requires a temporary code and confirmation by authorized staff; the amount is deducted from the balance and recorded in the history.

Cards are issued without expiration by default. If a validity date is enabled for the relevant case and jurisdiction, it must appear in the gift's terms. Expiration does not erase the recorded balance or remove the issuer's applicable obligations. Refunds and any right to cash redemption are handled with the business under its terms and applicable law. The app can record a refund made outside Yo Lo Tengo; it does not automatically disburse money.
